Causes of Rust in Injection Mold and Solutions
Mold rusting is a relatively common phenomenon. It not only affects the appearance of the mould, but also directly affects the overall quality of the mould. So the problem of mould rusting can not be ignored. The following are the reasons and measures for analysis, for your reference.
The causes of mould rusting are as follows:
1. The product of decomposition of moulding material
2. Mould Return
3. Hand sweating
Correlated analysis of mould rusting:
1. The most common corrosion of the mold caused by the decomposition products (gas and residue) of the moulding materials. In order to prevent the mould from rusting, the most widely used method is chromium plating on the mould cavity, but the chromium plating treatment can not solve the problem adequately, because the decomposition products also corrode the deep part of pinhole, which is where the plating can not be.
2. When the mould is cooled below the moisture regain point, the moisture in the air will return to the surface of the mould and produce water droplets, which will cause rust.
To solve the problem of mould rusting:
1. Short-term: wipe the surface of die cavity with hand cloth. Sufficient drying of the moulding material to reduce the barrel temperature to prevent material decomposition. When the forming is temporarily stopped, the mould cavity is sprayed with anti-rust agent, and then the mould is closed.
2. Long-term: the product material into decomposition products of the mold is not corroded by the material. The easily decomposed materials are PVC, POM, EVA, PC and foaming materials. Because the decomposed products have corrosive effect on the mould, the mould should be chromium plated if the plastic raw materials can not be changed. When the die is stopped for a long time, a layer of butter is applied to the exterior and moving parts of the die.
